Joseph Lloyd Simmons a.k.a Rev. Run was born on November 14th, 1964 in Hollis,Queens, New York. He was born to the beutiful Evelyn and Daniel Simmons. Rev. Run grew up in the queens with his two older brothers, Daniel Simmons and Russell Simmons, who is a hip hop record producer, creator of Def Comedy Jam and now owns his own line of clothing (Phat Farm). Growing up wasn't always easy for the three, growing up in a city full of violence and full of times where it feels theres no way out but Rev. Run and his brothers were some of the ones who made it. While as you see what russell became Joseph became part of a dynamic hip hop group one of the greatest hip hop groups in hip hop history, Run DMC. Run DMCwas made up of course Joseph "Run" Simmons, Darryl "DMC" McDaniels and the late DJ Jam Master J. They made many hit records, such as 'Tricky', 'My Adidas','Runs House', and many more; and sold millions and millions of albums and cassettes. Run was the youngest of the three and was very talented. Run DMC was voted the 48th best artist in Rock N Roll by Rolling Stones.
Joseph later married his first wife Valerie Vaughn with whom he had three children with, Vanessa, Angela, and Jo Jo. Things didn't work out the way the couple planned and they later got a divorce. Rev. Run remarried to a beautiful woman named Justine Simmons whom which they had two children Diggy and Russy.
Rev. run is very spiritual and if you didn't know he is an actual reverened. He was ordained at Zoe Ministrie church under the leadership of Bishop Jordan. Being at this church is also is kind of how he got the name Rev.Run. Run also has many books including a book im reading now, Words of Wisdom . He has used his spirituality to get through many hard times in his life especially when he was young. He also used it to help make huge decisions such as lossing weight(by exercising daily), and starting a sneaker company run athletics.
Rev.Run is doing very well now he has his own clothing line and shoes, Run Athletics, Dropped his own album, "Distortion" , and has a real life show called Run's House which is all about run and his family and their everyday life.Rev. was also nominated in the teens choice awards. Run is a very important peace to the hip hop community and many lives today. Him and his wife Justine has just adopted and newborn bab y Miley Simmons due to their lost of Justine's third child. watching Run has helped me to become a better person and I would like to meet him one day. I believe he deserves reconigition because where he's came from and what he is today. he has set many standards and has met many goals. he has also help make his family alos very successful. His oldest daughter Vaneesa has just ended her soap oprah acting on guiding light and is going to Los Angelous to become an actor. Angela no has her own Magazine called the Run Down giving the newest and latest news of todays news and fashion. Both of the girls have also made their own shoes called pasteries. Jo Jo has just signed a record deal with a label with his own group blackout and Justine, his wife is a great mother and has her own jewelry coming out called brown sugar which are brown sugar colored diamonds.
